My Baby is One!

I can't believe I'm already saying this, but my sweet baby boy is now a toddler.  To say I don't know where the past year has gone would be an understatement!  This summer has flown by and it doesn't feel like it's been an entire year since I was laid up in a hospital room, on bed rest for five weeks.  My little monster didn't make pregnancy easy - though I can say it has absolutely been worth it.

L has grown into such a fun little person.  He loves to make everybody laugh.  He's great at making funny faces, and LOVES doing silly things for attention.  He's always smiling!  L is also great at getting into stuff.  Maybe it's a boy thing?  I don't remember D being this way, but he'll happily shove carpet dirt in his mouth while doing his best to climb the book shelf and throw all the books on the floor simultaneously.  Yup, that's my boy!  He was climbing stuff at 8 or 9 months and walking by 11 months.  He's got to keep up with his older daycare friends, his big sister and of course the dog.  L loves our dog as much, if not more, than anybody in our family.  They chase each other around the house almost daily, play hide and seek and the two of them love to cuddle on the floor.  L also loves to snuggle with me.  He gives the best slobbery kisses and strong little baby hugs.  I love that!  I don't know how long little boys do that, before it becomes "not cool" to hug your Mom.  So since he's still a baby I will happily accept every single second of love that he chooses to dole out without being prompted.  Slobbery or not.

My little guy is One.  He's been learning so much, especially in the last few weeks.  L can now say "boat" "duck" "yeah" and "pen."  He loves to sit on the floor and dump out all of his wooden blocks, then put them all back into the bucket.  He knows what to do with my iPod touch -- a fact that's both slightly concerning, and a teensy bit awesome!  He's also recently learned how to turn the TV on and off and loves to do that, particularly while his sister is watching Max & Ruby.  Oh, my boy...

The first year has been nothing short of amazing.  I can't wait to see what the next year will bring!  Happy First Birthday to my sweet little man.  Mommy loves you tons and tons and tons.

Then...

... And now.  :)
