George's Cream: #Review & #Giveaway

George's is a great Canadian success story and George himself has some interesting stories about how he initially decided to develop a non-prescription cream to help combat severe dry skin for some of his local customers at his pharmacy in Calgary. Using his wife's cake mixer and working on formula after formula in his kitchen - the ultimate result was a cult success for George's Special Dry Skin Cream. The growth, loyalty and demand for the brand has been unbelievable - so much so that Shopper's Drug Mart and Loblaws now carry this brand across Canada. Although George’s is known for its great results with severe dry skin (eczema and psoriasis) – it offers therapeutic benefits that will provide immense relief to this suffering from any of the following conditions including: Cradle Cap, Sunburn, Flaky Skin, Wind Burn, and Swimmer’s Itch.  Since George’s does not contain Urea, Lanolin or Parabens and has been specifically made to be hypoallergenic and fragrance free – it is a great (and safe) solution for children (including babies).

I know I have mentioned in the past that both of my kids suffer from some pretty sensitive skin.  D was diagnosed with eczema at around one year of age, and we knew almost immediately after L was born that he would suffer from the same condition.  His cradle cap was the worst I have ever seen, and virtually incurable.  Thankfully, L's flaky scalp has mostly cleared up since then but it's been confirmed that he has eczema as well and it's not just normal baby skin concerns we were dealing with.  Since then, I've been on the hunt for some natural products to maintain the moisture in my kids skin.  I don't like the idea of using many of the over the counter treatments, or even prescribed ones which can sometimes contain ingredients that are even more harsh and possibly detrimental to their long term health.

Using George's Cream has been a great way to continue keeping my kids skin healthy, and my own as well.  They offer a variety of formulas including everything from a light moisturizing lotion to a thick, rich cream providing relief from especially dry and flaky skin.  I've found that using the Special Dry Skin Cream on my son's scalp has helped ward off more flaking, and relieve the itch as he is no longer scratching his head as much as he used to.  Also, where my daughter always has very dry skin on her legs, and oddly enough some flaky patches behind her ears, it has helped to relieve that too.  For myself, as a home daycare provider I don't dare count how many times a day I wash my hands -- it's a lot!!  As a result, my hands often hurt because of how dry they get.  I've started using the George's Light Lotion after every hand wash and it's made a huge difference.
