Teacher Monday: Del Monte Fruit Giveaway

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day - especially for children.  It's been proven that a healthy breakfast helps kids focus and improves the ability to succeed in school.  Unfortunately, kids all over North America are missing out on this - Sometimes, their parents are not able to provide it, and sometimes they are lead astray and don't make healthy choices for themselves.  Teachers are left trying to remedy the situation, and struggle with the lack of funding to do so.

Del Monte wants to help!  Through their Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms program, they are giving away cash prizes to Teachers for supplies for their classrooms, and fresh fruit to provide healthy snacks and cool educational activities about making healthy choices to these kids.  There's more - Winning teachers will be linked with schools in Del Monte Fresh Produce’s tropical growing regions, including Costa Rica and Guatemala, who will also receive grants for school supplies.


Are you a teacher and would you like to be included in this contest?  Here's what you can do - To be eligible to win, teachers must register for the “Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms” online contest at www.fruits.com. After teachers register their name and school, they can get all their fans -- from parents to students, to friends and family -- to vote for them. Ten winners will be selected each Monday for five consecutive weeks in October/November, 2010, for a total of 50 winning teachers North American teachers. Winners are based solely on the number of votes they receive. Winning teachers will receive $750 in cash to purchase school supplies and $250 in Del Monte fresh fruit coupons for classroom snacks and to use in fruit educational activities.
