Our 1st Jack-o-Lantern - Baby's 1st Halloween #FirstCheerios

With Halloween coming soon, my kids are getting very excited. I've got a little boy who wants to be Batman EVERY day (because why wait for Halloween when you can be Batman?!) and a little girl who's now referring to herself as Rapunzel. Today, we were discussing pumpkins and I thought back to Halloween a couple of years back. Little Miss D carved her first Jack-O-Lantern, and it was the Little Mister's very first Halloween.

I remember we made the most of it. We designed our "Happy Pumpkin" - a scary pumpkin was certainly out of the question - and we got to work. Unfortunately, the goopy, stringy insides of the pumpkin freaked Little Miss out so much that she refused to actually participate. It ended up more of a "Mommy does the work and Little Miss watches" kind of activity. That's OK though -- Jack the pumpkin turned out pretty well in the end! Here are some pics of my My Little Pumpkin himself on his First Halloween, and my Little Miss with her very First Jack-o-Lantern!

There are all kinds of Firsts to celebrate when it comes to our kids! Watching them develop and grow, learn and experience new things is part of what makes being a parent truly amazing. This is what the 2014 First Cheerios Mosaic celebrates -- All of those special first moments. Why not celebrate right along with Cheerios? Visit http://www.facebook.com/LifeMadeDelicious to take part in the 2014 mosaic too. Everyone who uploads a picture will receive a $1 off coupon. ** One coupon per household, per calendar year, while supplies last.  Want to see what the mosaic will look like?  Keep an eye out on store shelves now, to see the 2013 version.

Disclosure – I am participating in the First Cheerios blogger campaign by Mom Central Canada on behalf of General Mills. I received compensation as a thank you for participating and for sharing my honest opinion. The opinions on this blog are my own.

  1. Be careful about entering contests that require a photo. I entered my son's image in a Cheerios contest in 2010. Guess who is being used as the face of this latest campaign 3 years later? That's right. My son.

We thought we would win an RRSP in exchange for his awesome photo, instead General Mills has rights to our son's image in perpetuity. Weigh that big release before you enter your kids' images for a $1 coupon.
